This is easily one of the most common questions our company gets when talking with potential customers on the phone. Everyone wants to know the answer to the fateful question of “how much does drywall repair cost?” And we get it.
The answer is… it depends. It can be as little as $100 or as much as $10,000 depending on the circumstances. On average, we find drywall repairs costing around $300 or so in Madison.
Now everyone hates that answer, but it’s the truth and let us explain why.
People call us for every type of drywall repair project you can imagine. Some are just calling because they have a small hole in their wall from an object that fell off the wall. The hole is maybe 4 inches in diameter and relatively minor. This is an example of a project that would be on the lower end towards $100-$150 for the repair. Honestly, in our opinion these jobs are better done as DIY projects because it’s just too costly for our team to come handle a small job like this.
On the other end, we’ve had clients calling because their basement flooded and it’s destroyed several thousand square feet of drywall. This is an example of a larger project that will be several thousand dollars due to it’s size.
It’s tough to give an exact number since so many drywall projects can vary in every manor you can imagine.
That’s why we love our current process of sending out a technician to the property and get a visual of the extent of the damage. In some situations (like the small 4 inch hole), we could probably make due with some pictures, but we always prefer having eyes on the project.
If you ever wonder what a drywall repair project might cost, you can certainly give us a call and walk through the situation. We’ll try our best to give an estimate based on what we’re hearing.
